Shortly after state lawmakers bragged about the passage of the Connecticut Clean Air Act, including plans for thousands of electric vehicles to hit the road, one of the state-run electric buses caught fire in Hamden over the weekend. Consequently, Connecticut’s transit authority removed 12 electric buses in its fleet from service. While, as the news report shows, that there are less electric bus fires than with gas-powered ones, however, electric powered vehicles overall come with many more problems politicians are willing to admit.
