This should not be taken as an endorsement, but is rather a case of environmentalists pushing people’s buttons in order to provoke a reaction. This time, however, it did not involve people physically removing environmentalists from the road.

According to the Daily Mail, an American living in Panama named Kenneth Darlington decided to take matters into his own hands when climate cultists blocked a highway in opposition to a Canadian mining company named First Quantum Minerals being granted an extension by Panamanian authorities to operate a copper mine for another 20 years. While arguing with the cultists, the Daily Mail says one of the greens dared Darlington to shoot and he obviously decided to accept the challenge.

The Daily Mail reports that environmentalist roadblocks have cost Panamanian businesses millions of dollars, forced schools to close for almost a week, and even resulted in thousands of medical appointments missed. But that obviously didn’t matter to the climate cultists since no doubt they were being paid by a foreign nonprofit to conduct their obstruction. It’s okay for environmentalists to have jobs, but the average Panamanian, not so much.

As many of you are aware, a recent practice of climate cultists has been to frequently block traffic on major roadways and the consequences have been very harmful (financially and emotionally) to the populace environmentalists claim to be helping. However, the disgusting part about it all is that the greens are willing to do that, even to the point of blocking people in need of care from being transported to the hospital.

But it isn’t so much the shock of what Darlington did or even the fact that environmentalists block these roads knowing the potential consequences. It is that Panamanian authorities should have acted and stopped this roadblock before it got started so none of this would have happened. It is the Panamanian government’s responsibility to keep the peace and in this case, Panamanian officials neglected their duties badly.
