No longer will so-called intellectuals dominate government policy. In a significant ruling, in a 6-3 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court slammed the door shut on the so-called Chevron Deference. The case that resulted in the initial ruling was due to a lawsuit filed by Chevron Corp. against the NRDC. The result gave regulatory agencies (like the EPA) nearly unlimited authority to over regulate businesses.

Six years ago, Reason weighed in on the Administrative State by interviewing Columbia Law School Prof. William Hamburger in which the legal precedent affected the Maine fishermen who were a party in the lawsuit that resulted in overturning the legal precedent.
