Not only did Biden Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm have problems finding a charger for an electric vehicle she drove, but Transportation Secretary and hybrid van owner Pete Buttigieg recently experienced the same thing.

America’s electric-vehicle drivers are increasingly unhappy with public charging, as problems that include glitchy or inoperable equipment seem to be getting worse, not better.

Now the U.S. government plans to launch a $100 million effort to try to tackle the reliability issue and make public charging less annoying and more consistent. The funding aims to repair and replace thousands of old or out-of-commission chargers that are contributing to a roll-of-the-dice sensation among EV drivers, who never know what they might find.

Around one in five attempts at charging at a public station outside of the Tesla network is a bust, according to an August study from J.D. Power.

“Imagine what it would be like if you couldn’t be sure when you pulled into a gas station that you’d actually get gas out of it,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in an interview.

As his boss announced money to help enhance electric vehicle charging infrastructure, Buttigieg expressed frustration to The Wall Street Journal about his experiences with unreliable equipment.

“We’ve definitely had that experience. Matter of fact, had it just a few days ago at a park in town,” he said. A parking spot with a charger was open, but it wasn’t working.

Biden is only spending money to upgrade 6000 of the existing 150,000 of electric vehicle chargers including barely to expand the network of them which won’t keep up with the demand for electric vehicles. This means though the chargers may be fixed, not surprisingly, the problems of long wait times and limited amounts of them won’t be addressed.

The Journal also noted that electric vehicle owners experience range anxiety resulting from electric vehicle owners being fearful of running out of battery power on the road. Another issue Biden’s effort will not address, including the capacity of electric vehicle batteries too.

None the less, somehow His Fraudulency must know what he’s doing since we were all assured the adults were back in charge when he moved in to the White House. The competence coming from this Administration never ceases to amaze.
