The Maryland Family Farm Legal Defense Fund has produced a documentary video about a Clean Water Act lawsuit brought against farms on Maryland’s eastern shore by an environmentalist group named the Waterkeepers Alliance. The attorney for the plaintiffs is Erin Fitzsimmons in which she is also an environmental policy advisor to the state’s Attorney General. Worst part about it, the Waterkeepers had the support of the University of Maryland’s Environmental Law Clinic.
The lawsuit alleged that two farms were continuously discharging pollutants in nearby rivers and should be held liable. Fortunately, the farmers prevailed and many of Maryland’s elected officials apologized. Had the environmentalists succeeded, any farm could have been in the crosshairs of a green group’s litigation arm for Clean Water Act violations.
This is one of many instances of environmentalists and like-minded politicians seek to destroy someone’s way of life in the name of protecting nature over the needs of man.
