Not only are electric cars being pitched to help people save money on gas, but so-called renewable or green energy is being promoted due to energy utility rate hikes and a number of people have been receptive to the messaging. However, in light of electric vehicle fires, now concerns are being raised about solar panel-related fires that have seen an increase recent years. According to ABC, solar panel-related fires in the state of Victoria, Australia increased from 27 during 2021-2022 to 64 in 2022-2023. Even England has seen an uptick in solar panel fires, as the Independent reveals from 63 in 2019 to 66 recorded until July of this year.
ABC quotes Energy Safe Victoria as saying the fires are usually due to a lack of maintenance while the Independent says England’s are under investigation. Meanwhile, there have been some solar panel-related inflammations in the United States, more recently, two were reported in New Jersey and Massachusetts during July. While relatively new to consumers, green-energy related items carry risks that may be too dangerous for your or your family to use, especially since they are becoming more common. Renewable energy sources, like solar and electric vehicles, also rely on massive government largess to exist making their long-term reliability questionable and extinguishing such inflammations are relatively new.
