After a huge rainstorm earlier this week that resulted in massive amounts of power outages, Maine’s governor, Janet Mills, recently declared a state of emergency while delaying a vote to implement California-style ban emissions rules on fossil fuel-powered cars in the Pine Tree State in hopes of replacing them with electric vehicles.

As a result of the blackouts, not surprisingly, demand for portable generators has skyrocketed. How ironic that Janet Mills delays a vote on her push for electric vehicles resulting from a lack of electricity. To paraphrase what Ayn Rand once said, you can avoid reality but you can’t avoid the consequences of doing so.
