The left never misses an opportunity to politicize a major, current event.

A candidate running for Senate in New Jersey was ruthlessly goaded on social media after claiming the “climate crisis” was to blame for the Friday earthquake that rocked the tri-state area.

Green Party member Christina Amira Khalil shared the controversial message just minutes after the quake, which was the strongest temblor to strike near the Big Apple in 140 years.

“I experienced my first earthquake in NJ. We never get earthquakes. The climate crisis is real. The weirdest experience ever,” Khalil wrote on X.

The candidate took it down a short time later in which it went viral and was even community noted.

The Post noted that Khalil later replaced the tweet with a video expressing her surprise at an earthquake occurring in central New Jersey. Khalil only backed away after she got caught and knew her remark was nonsense but posted it anyway.

It is because of people like her who make untrue statements that diminish the impact of climate gloom-and-doom statements, so if a disaster was in the wings resulting from climate change few people would believe such proclamations. Then again Khalil got her 15 minutes of fame and, fortunately, it is unlikely she will get elected to Congress to begin with.
