Microsoft acquired 4.9 million tons of human waste to bury 5,000 feet underground, aiming to offset its AI-related carbon footprint by earning carbon removal credits through biosolid storage. Microsoft agreed to a deal with Vaulted Deep to store 4.9 million metric tons of waste underground, reducing its carbon footprint.

However, one has to wonder if the company considered if this approach carries potential risks of long-term groundwater contamination. You couldn’t make this stuff up even if you tried. This whole idea is full of it.
