Yesterday, members of the elusive group known as the Zizians—often described as a trans-related death cult— appeared at a pre-trial hearing in Allegany County, Maryland, regarding charges of weapons possession, drugs, and trespassing. Authorities linked the group to a number of violent offenses that took place last year and were conducted in different parts of the country. A Border Patrol officer was among the cult’s victims.
The AP also reports that other members of the Zizian group are currently facing murder-related proceedings in California and Vermont. Teresa Milo Youngblut stands accused of killing U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland during a shootout on January 20, 2025.
Additionally, another Zizian member, Alexander Leatham, was recently charged with allegedly attempting to violently escape custody for the third time while held in Vallejo, California. Leatham faces ongoing charges tied to a 2022 attack on a landlord in the area, which resulted in deaths and has been linked to the broader group.
The group referred to as Zizians promotes a belief system focused on rationalist thought, transgender advocacy, AI risk mitigation, left-leaning anarchism, Veganism, and retribution. They have devised strategies for psychological indoctrination and mental domination, which have reportedly resulted in at least two documented suicides.
