It was just a matter of time before Greenpeace made the case that renewable energy sources are the reason for reduced carbon emissions and that coal usage dropped along with it. Then again, the group has supported Obama’s efforts to shut down coal-fired plants which has resulted in hundreds of them either being closed or on the verge of doing so.

Then again, I guess their claim that shale gas played a much smaller role in the emission of carbon dioxide means Greenpeace will probably support fracking right?
