Red State has posted an article pointing out that the mean greenie opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline has corporate sponsors behind it. The blog points to the World Wildlife Fund and Environmental Defense Fund are spearheading the opposition to the project. The blog post’s author, Chris Walker, states:
Bank of America, Barnes and Noble, Coca-Cola, CVS, Disney, Hilton, Gap, Hewlitt-Packard, Nabisco and Subway are all listed as corporate partners with the World Wildlife Fund having made substantial donations to the organization. Likewise, Caterpillar, Starbucks, Walmart, McDonald’s and AT&T have all engaged in partnerships with the Environmental Defense Fund, the same organization that ran television ads and organized voter turnout efforts to support Democrat Senate candidates in Iowa, Colorado and North Carolina in 2014.
Walker points out that oft times companies will support liberal or environmentalist causes due to outside pressure. The best way to stop companies from backing green campaigns is to pressure them to stop. Communicating with them telling them is one of the best ways to do so.
