ReasonTV has done a video outlining three reasons why the Keystone pipeline should be built. It also brings up some facts that have not been reported in the media and I am sure green groups don’t want to be known. The dirty secrets as to why environmentalist groups oppose pipeline construction is that it increases the risk of accidents since transporting oil over land (such as by truck or train) or by ship. If accidents occur most likely they will result in oil spills that environmentalists use as propaganda to pitch for more environmental rules or to demonize oil companies involved. Transportation by boat, truck or train results in lots of carbon emissions as well.

Environmentalists are not concerned about global warming or even the environment because what they ultimately want is political control over us and our way of life. Not surprisingly, they oppose construction of pipelines because it not only gives them political ammunition including the fact that environmentalists are anti-progress and anti-civilization.
