A federal appeals court ruled against 101 environmentalist groups attempting to legally force the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate spent bullets and shot. According to The Associated Press, the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia stated that green groups could not point to a way regulations could be enacted on spent lead bullets and shot without simultaneously regulating cartridges and shells. Cartridges and shells are exempt from regulation under the Toxic Substances Control Act, respectfully.

The National Rifle Association and other pro-gun groups assumed the responsibility of defending the EPA and urged the court to toss out the lawsuit like a lower court already did. The vast majority of ammunition is manufactured with lead and while environmentalists state copper could be used as a substitute for lead, it would make ammunition more expensive.

Not only do environmentalists attack our food supply by attempting to restrict animals for consumption or experimentation, lie about bio-tech foods that we use to nourish ourselves, attack our health care by lying about vaccines, now they attempted to attack the means of which people defend themselves. Despite this loss, I will bet a steak dinner green groups will try again using a different avenue.
