Stopping the coming ice age

This documentary from the 1980’s (subtitled in Dutch) makes the case of a coming ice age. In this film, the case is made that the greenhouse effect from human activity that results in carbon emissions may put off a new ice age. Interestingly enough, in 2012 the press reported that a study published in the scientific journal Nature Geoscience confirming carbon emissions will help put off an ice age. All of the extreme weather events attributed today as being the result of global warming such as hurricanes, increased head and drought, as well as snow activity, are shown to be signs of a coming ice age and not the result of human-induced global warming. However, some of the recommendations to stave off the ice age are similar to the ones suggested today to curb global warming.
