Too bad. So sad. Bye bye.
After sharing a post that labeled the late conservative Charlie Kirk as the head of Trump’s Hitler youth, climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann, widely recognized for his climate activism, has stepped down from his role at the University of Pennsylvania.
In a statement released Monday, Mann explained that his activism was incompatible with the university’s policy of institutional neutrality.
On September 14, The Daily Pennsylvanian covered the significant criticism Mann faced for comparing Kirk to Hitler.
“Penn Earth and Environmental Science professor Michael Mann faced criticism for social media activity — including reposts and a since-deleted post of his own — regarding the assassination of conservative media personality and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
“Mann’s comments on social media — including reposting a message that called Kirk ‘the head of Trump’s Hitler Youth’ — faced backlash from prominent conservative pundits and social media commentators, including Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.). The posts have since been deleted.”
Mann, who served as Penn’s Vice Provost for Climate Science, Policy, and Action for 11 months before stepping down this week, has long been a polarizing figure known for fueling intense climate change alarmism.
During March, Mann was sanctioned for knowingly feeding the jury false data in a manner of misconduct that was extraordinary in its scope, extent, and intent. Mann previously called for people to take up arms and form a militia against Trump.
Michael Mann had no qualms about suing people for posting criticisms and other comments about him and his work. But the Penn State scientist frequently insulted critics of his notorious hockey stick graph calling them climate deniers. But insult or criticize Mann and you might be sued, or sent a cease and desist letter. Fortunately, he won’t be around to do this anymore.
Nothing of value was lost.
This is GREAT news! A twofer.
