Despite the seemingly drawing down activities after the 2016 election, environmentalists are still engaged but continue to try to obstruct the Trump Administration. Their singular focus is to undermine the President’s ability to govern by resorting primarily to legal actions and getting positive coverage from their lapdogs in the mainstream media.
The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed changes to the Magnuson-Stevens Act, the federal statute enacted in the 1970’s that regulates fisheries. Environmentalists with the Conservation Law Foundation spoke out against the changes that would loosen the law’s reach making it easier for fisheries to operate.
The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) also decried changes proposed by the President that would also loosen regulatory standards related to the Endangered Species Act. Doing so would reduce the likelihood of green groups resorting to lawsuits used to block development and other activities such as drilling or logging on federal lands.
Both of the above statute changes, if enacted, most likely will result in litigation to block changes to the two aforementioned federal laws since both the CBD and the Conservation Law Foundation are organizations that primarily resort to litigation.
In Long Branch, New Jersey, environmentalists raised public objections to the Environmental Protection Agency rolling back clean air rules on automobiles and trucks backed by the Obama Administration. At a rally hosted by the NJ Sierra Club during a clear day at a beach, speakers not only pooh-poohed the idea, but (not surprisingly) New Jersey is among 10 states suing to block other changes enacted by the EPA.
Since the political Left has lost, they obviously will not peacefully cede power like was normally done up until about 8 years ago. There are more indications not only that the Left only considers their side to be the only faction that should govern regardless of election outcomes, but these three actions are more examples of how anti-human environmentalists are.
In each of the above instances, greens take the side of wildlife or forms of nature over the needs of mankind. When they don’t get their way, they resort to litigation to obstruct any changes since environmentalists (who are part of the political Left) believe they are the anointed ones who should rule society.
