Climate cultists are directly attacking Christmas now.
A climate activist threatened to bring a decades-long tradition to a halt – after scaling the annual Christmas tree gifted by Norway to the UK right at the moment it was being felled.
Officials in Oslo have sent a tree to Trafalgar Square, London, every year since 1947 to thank Britain for its support during the Second World War, when Norway fell under occupation by Nazi Germany.
But as the tree-chopping ceremony got underway this morning, one eagle-eyed official noticed something unusual – an Extinction Rebellion protestor sitting high up the branches of the 65ft spruce tree.
The protester, who was subsequently removed from the location by law enforcement, was but hurt over the failure of UK officials and Equinor—Norway’s government-owned oil firm—to cancel development plans for Rosebank, the UK’s biggest untapped oil and gas reserve.
This site is located in the UK’s section of the North Sea, roughly 81 miles northwest of the Shetland Islands. Even though the initiative was rejected in court, Equinor continues to anticipate its approval for next year and XR says it will result in being an environmental disaster.
However, XR may get their wish. The Daily Mail says the Labour government’s Energy Secretary, Ed Miliband (a proponent of Net Zero), has yet to approve the project.
