After selling just 49 cars last year, Jaguar has capitulated and will go back to what made the automobile manufacturer great: fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is exploring plans to develop a new petrol-powered engine after coming under fire over a controversial “woke” rebrand.
The company is reportedly drawing up proposals for a vehicle powered partly by a combustion engine, despite earlier pledges to go “all electric”.
The new car, which is said to be in the early stages of development, would be classed as a “range-extended electric vehicle”, which uses a small petrol engine to charge the main battery powering the vehicle.
This was the first sign that JLR’s efforts were doomed.
Then reality punches you in the nose.
It is true, the company was warned about this rebrand and it failed. Worst of all, JLR isn’t British-owned anymore. It is owned by an Indian conglomerate named Tata who, at first, defended the move. Play stupid games, win stupid pries.
What’s worse is that the woke weirdos responsible for Jaguar’s rebrand DO NOT CARE about JLR’s financial collapse. To them, destroying something beloved and iconic IS success and they succeeded.
