A very good and appropriate movie to see for Earth Day that is still in theaters is Kingsman: The Secret Service. The movie stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine & Samuel Jackson. In the film, an evil megalomaniac plots a worldwide catastrophe based on his belief that humans cause climate change.
Breitbart did a terrific review of Kingsman in which one section that delves further into the background of the film states:
The baddie Valentine (Samuel L Jackson, who appears to have based his lisping villain on his arch-enemy Spike Lee) is an ardent greenie who – just like rather too many real-life greenies – believes mankind is a virus which must be eradicated to save the planet. Even more realistically the only people he thinks should be exempt from this cull are celebrities.
You can read the review in its entirety here. Kingsman is a secret service organization started by billionaires after the First World War in order to exact global justice. The group is generally suspicious of governments and loathing of environmentalists and politicians. Kingsman is a terrific flick that doesn’t disappoint.
