Poor Barbara Loe Fisher. The head of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) recently whined about the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program has straying from its original purpose (read: its harder to get money from vaccine manufacturers). I guess she and others like her claiming that vaccines cause autism and a whole host of injuries are really in dire need of money. They are obviously hoping for a bailout of some kind since groups like NVIC are no longer credible due to all of the lies they have stated about vaccines have been proven false.

Ms. Fisher has been appointed to numerous important national health committees and spoken at many conferences. Like Jenny McCarthy or Oprah Winfrey once Fisher felt that vaccines caused autism she rejected any study that has stated it doesn’t. Just recently, it was discovered that the MMR vaccine has more benefits than just preventing a patient from contracting Measles, Mumps and Rubella. Fox News reports that the MMR vaccine can help patients fight off other illnesses for up to three years. Fox News states:

After vaccinations, measles cases declined in all the countries. Deaths from non-measles infections also dropped. In the U.S., deaths from infections such as respiratory or diarrheal disease fell from 18 per 100,000 before vaccination to 6 per 100,000 after vaccination. Researchers attribute the drop to fewer measles cases caused by the introduction of the vaccine.

None of this matters to people like Barbara Loe Fisher. Like Oprah Winfrey and Jenny McCarthy she has made her money purporting lies and it is no coincidence that environmentalists have had an influence on the anti-vaccine movement too. Now she wants even more money obviously because donations are down for her group since it is harder now-a-days for plaintiffs in vaccine injury cases to win judgements. Anti-vaccine groups almost act like proxy organizations for green groups since the end result in undermining confidence in vaccines and vaccinations is the eradication of human life. Something environmentalists won’t openly admit.
