On Wednesday environmentalist groups filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking to block hydraulic fracturing (aka fracking) on federal lands. Reuters reports the groups allege the Bureau of Land Management field to take into account the environmental impact of fracking with its approval of drilling on almost 400,000 acres of federal land located in central California.
Earthjustice filed the suit on behalf of the Center for Biological Diversity and Los Padres Forest Watch in which the groups also state that air quality, water and wildlife would be affected which would also violate the National Environmental Policy Act. While there are already oil wells in place on federal lands resulting from fracking in Kern and Ventura Counties, in 2013 a federal judge ruled against the BLM stating it violated federal law when issuing leases for fracking in Monterey County.
Like any group of ideologues the environmentalist movement knows no bounds when it comes to their war on capitalism. Despite Josh Fox’s two anti-fracking films being resoundingly discredited, and the recent conclusion by the EPA tat fracking does not affect groundwater, it has not stopped environmentalist groups from pursuing their cause of shutting down not only attempts at drilling but also building facilities to export oil extracted via the method.
The environmentalist movement is not the Communist movement reborn but using a different vehicle to collectivize the globe. It is also a group of rich liberals who want to tell other people how to run their lives. And they will take money from other parties of interest in order to achieve their goal(s). I would not be surprised if Earthjustice is the recipient of money from Middle Eastern oil interests and their lawsuit like the one against fracking on federal lands is financed by a Middle Eastern oil producing country so this lawsuit can help minimize competition.
