Journalists held hostage inside Dakota Access Pipeline protest camp

This is the extended footage of film maker Phelim McAleer and a team of fellow journalists being threatened, assaulted, and held hostage for doing their jobs. They asked tough questions, just as journalists are supposed to do. Phelim was initially attacked, and as he tried to leave he and his team were threatened. Their car was attacked, and blocked in by people and vehicles against their will.

They were only released when the police dispatched a SWAT and Extraction Team.

The message is clear from The Dakota Access Pipeline protesters: Journalists are not allowed to ask difficult questions…or your lives will be in danger.
