People for the Extortion, Torture and Abuse of human beings joins in the Left’s campaign to further drive people in developing countries into poverty. Their latest effort is to demonize monkeys used to pick coconuts for farmers in Thailand when the country’s Commerce Minister denies any abuse takes place,
According to the Associated Press, Thai farmers using monkeys to pick coconuts is not a major part of their industry and, while a tradition, is more of a tourist attraction which has been used to entertain tourists for a long time. That is all the more reason for the human-haters at PETA to seek to undermine Thailand’s coconut picking monkeys. Some wealthy, elitist, British snobs seek to make people in Thailand’s lives miserable by taking away a form of entertainment that not only makes farmers money, but is also made available so foreigners can enjoy their vacations in the Land of Smiles.
It is a lot easier to oppose entertainment, like Thai coconut-picking monkeys, when you have a lot of money and think you can tell other people how to live. Then again, what do the lives of a few under class, Asian people in developing countries matter to animal rights groups, like PETA, anyway?
