Michael Bay’s “Songbird” is a COVID-inspired Pandemic Thriller

The trailer for Michael Bay’s latest movie Songbird was released yesterday. It takes place in a world suffering through COVID outbreaks that have lasted four years.

The movie is set in 2024 and in the scene shared by Variety magazine, a world shown ravaged by the effects of a virus strain known as COVID-23 and has resulted in people having to survive a 213 week lockdown.

According to Variety, a couple (Niko and Sara) has to deal with living apart during the epidemic while living under martial law that prohibits them from physical contact.

Michael Bay did an excellent job with his film 13 Hours, and now he’s back with this Romeo and Juliet-style dystopian thriller. Best of all, he’s making waves with Songbird too.
