Two environmentalists who are members of a tiny investment house named Engine 1 were elected to Exxon’s Board of Directors Wednesday. Not surprisingly, the result is a fracturing of the company’s governing body. The two, most likely, will try to push the board to move to so-called clean energy, but Exxon is a fossil fuels company and oil and gas is the primary means of its business model. It remains to be seen how much of an impact the two will have.
