Media Blames Climate Change For Iranian Water Shortages

Now mainstream media outlets are trying to help Joe Biden for making excuses for repressive regimes, in this case Iran. You can’t make this stuff up, ladies and gentlemen. For many years, Iran’s Shi’ite regime has diverted water from the resource rich, Arab-majority region of Khuzestan which is located in the southwestern part of Iran. Consequently, the regime’s actions have resulted in mass protests since mid-July that are spreading to other provinces. To halt the uprising, tragically, the theocratic state has resorted to shooting protesters on sight with live ammunition.

But, rather than report the actual facts and condemn Iran’s iron-fisted state, instead the American media sees it fit to blame climate change. From The New York Times (emphasis mine):

“A prolonged drought and rising temperatures from climate change, combined with decades of government mismanagement of natural resources and lack of planning, have turned the water crisis into a volatile incubator of protests and violent unrest.”

“A long-simmering factor in Iran protests: climate change,” was the Los Angeles Timesproclamation.

Last, but certainly not least, Scientific America decided to weigh in:

“The impacts of climate change are among the environmental challenges facing Iran that helped spark protests in dozens of cities across the Islamic republic.”

In the video of the protests, the participants chant not only for the death of Iran’s ruler and leading cleric Ali Khameini, but also praise Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi who was ousted from power in 1979.

Iran’s state is not only using live ammunition in its efforts to quell the Khuzestan protests, but also implemented an internet black out. According to the AFP, Ali Khameini also took the time to patronize others, not only by acting conciliatory, but also claiming shots were fired by unknown elements, accused the U.S.. Israel, and Saudi Arabia for the unrest, and even blamed the region’s hot climate for the water shortages.

Joe Biden has been courting Iran in hopes of the country re-entering the nuclear accord negotiated by President Barack Obama. All it did was buy Iran more time to buy material and equipment in order to build a nuclear weapon. The media’s attempts at inserting climate change in their news stories is not only an effort to keep the issue in the mind of low information voters but also indirectly support Joe Biden and his efforts with Iran.

In light of the winner Iran’s recent presidential election, one can only conclude that Biden isn’t serious about dealing appropriately with Iran. However, the establishment media got their talking point exposure on the backs of the people suffering due to Iran’s blatant persecution.
