NIH Animal Experiments Are Working

On Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show tonight, he had a representative from People for the Extortion, Torture, and Abuse of human beings (PETA) to discuss animal experiments being used by the National Institute of Health (NIH). In the segment, Tucker seemingly decried what was made out to be cruel experiments on monkeys by essentially sanctioning the claims of the PETA representative.

The PETA spokeswoman seemingly made the vivisection out to be intentional and vicious acts carried out by sick individuals while attempting to test in order to make an AIDS vaccine stating humans should be used instead of animals. However, with Tucker being a long time journalist, what was disappointing is that he did not have someone from NIH on to respond to PETA’s accusations. But a little research reveals the NIH AIDS vaccine experiments are being successful.

As it turns out, during mid-December, Speaking of Research reported on what is going on with the medical tests and good progress is being made on an AIDS vaccine. The post states (in part):

“An experimental HIV vaccine based on mRNA—the same platform technology used in two highly effective COVID-19 vaccines—shows promise #InMice and #InMonkeys, according to scientists at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health. Their results, published in Nature Medicine, show that the novel vaccine was safe and prompted the desired antibody and cellular immune responses against an HIV-like virus. Rhesus macaques receiving a priming vaccine followed by multiple booster inoculations had a 79% lower per-exposure risk of infection by simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV) compared to unvaccinated animals.”

Tucker might be trying to pitch for the opposing view in order to discredit or attack Dr. Anthony Fauci. If so, this is a dangerous game despite any valid criticism or wrongdoing on Fauci’s part, especially since Tucker is allowing PETA to appear pitching them as a legitimate source. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Tucker has done this and it would be helpful if he took PETA to task for their continued euthanizing of animals at the group’s shelter in their Virginia headquarters.

I wish there was another way to conduct experiments without having to use animals, but there are instances where it is necessary and research for an AIDS vaccine is one of them. No doubt many of the scientists involved in the medical tests would like to stop using animals too. However, PETA isn’t looking to stop alleged cruelty conducted against animals, but really seek the animalistic treatment of humans and that includes denying humans life saving treatments to fight dangerous diseases, like AIDS.

Back in 2015, Vice News posted an eye-opening report about the goings on at a medical testing lab in the Netherlands that used animals in scientist’s research.
