There’s no excuse for Bill Gates’ remarks, the county can do better but he doesn’t want them to. Florida has three times the population of Arizona, had nearly all of their ballots counted, and races decided by midnight on Election Day. Gates’ reaction is an answer that takes place before civilizations crumble. When leaders side with incompetence or even corruption by concluding it’s the population they’re supposed to serve or people who question their authority that is the problem and breeds mistrust.
