Speaker At WEF Davos Conference Describes “Horrific” Costs of Mining Cobalt

According to a report issued last year by the International Energy Agency, Cobalt is one of a number of metals and minerals vital for green energy sources, including for use in electric vehicle batteries. Five years ago, The Wall Street Journal revealed that Cobalt mining by hand in the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed or crippled a number of miners and children have been used in the extraction of the metal as well.
