Self-Driving Electric Vehicle Could Take Weeks To Put Out

Over 5o firefighters from Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona responded to an electric vehicle fire at a Phoenix warehouse yesterday. KSAZ reports a self-driving Waymo electric vehicle caught fire inside the facility Tuesday morning and the warehouse’s sprinkler system is credited with helping prevent the fire’s spread. KSAZ says Firefighters using lots of resources and are treating with a new method they’ve developed, but the fire is not expected to be fully extinguished for several weeks.

Electric vehicle fires are infamous for being very difficult to put out and this incident is proving to be the same as many others since fire crews kept running out of water and it took 2 hours to get the car fire under control.
