One would think the London National Gallery would have better security.

Vandals with the group Just Stop Oil smashed the glass of Diego Velázquez’s 1651 masterpiece painting “Rokeby Venus”, depicting the goddess Venus and her son Cupid in London’s National Gallery recently. According to the Associated Press, the two cultists claimed they chose the painting because it was vandalized by an activist during 1914 seeking to call attention to woman’s suffrage.

The two misfits who smashed the painting’s glass couldn’t have picked a worse comparison since their movement seeks to sacrifice mankind to the needs of nature, denying humans the ability to live and prosper using fossil fuels. The only thing these two cultists have done is remind people how hostile environmentalists are to our civilization since they seek to deny mankind the ability to bend nature in order to have the kinds of comfortable lifestyles we enjoy.
