Climate cultists with the group Ocean Rebellion (an arm of Extinction Rebellion) staged a publicity stunt outside a United Nations agency in London on Friday, simulating drowning in oil and gas, with graphic images of the event emerging.

The Telegraph says the Ocean Rebellion group carried out this unsettling demonstration on the steps of the International Maritime Organization, which oversees maritime transport regulations.

Video footage captured one activist dressed as an ocean goddess, wearing a fishbowl on her head, while another poured fake black oil over her to create the illusion of drowning.

Extinction Rebellion has been dubbed a cult and this offshoot has a history of conducting (ahem) unique publicity stunts like this. Including this one from 3 years ago obviously intended to shock people but is really gross.

Here’s a radical idea. These misfits should clean the environment that they claim to care so much about rather than polluting it by making messes with publicity stunts like these.
