The coalition government in Germany, led by leftist parties, collapsed on Wednesday evening due to budget disputes, personal conflicts, and the resurgence of Donald Trump. This culminated in the dismissal of Finance Minister Christian Lindner and the expulsion of his party, the Free Democrats, from the government.

The economy has faced difficulties in bouncing back from the COVID-19 lockdowns and the energy crisis allegedly caused by the war in Ukraine. However, the anti-industry Greens refused to consider lowering business taxes and continued to push for renewable energy, while the left-leaning Social Democrats rejected the idea of making significant cuts to public spending.
