A new report reveals that the Biden White House suppressed information from U.S. intelligence agencies suggesting that a lab leak in communist China was the likely origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the New York Post, Jason Bannan, a microbiologist with a Ph.D., joined the FBI after the 9/11 attacks to strengthen its expertise in biological and chemical weapons. The FBI was the only government agency to conclude that a lab leak was the probable cause of the pandemic, with moderate confidence in its assessment. This as opposed to four other agencies believed the pandemic originated from animals (a zoonotic source), but they expressed low confidence in their findings.

When National Intelligence Director Avril Haines briefed President Biden in August 2021—three months after Biden ordered a 90-day review into the origins of the pandemic—the FBI was not invited to attend the meeting.

The Post investigation revealed that Biden administration officials attempted to prevent certain information about the lab leak theory from being made public, and that the FBI was not the only agency that believed the pandemic originated in a Chinese lab.

Adrienne Keen, a State Department official with prior experience working privately for the U.N.’s World Health Organization (WHO), supported giving serious consideration to the WHO’s report on the origins of the pandemic. However, China obstructed the WHO’s access to crucial evidence needed to determine the outbreak’s origin, leading the organization to conclude that the pandemic had a zoonotic source.

The Trump administration withdrew from the WHO due to its promotion of Chinese disinformation about the pandemic and its failure to hold China accountable for its numerous falsehoods regarding COVID-19.

The New York Post also reveals top scientists at the National Center for Medical Intelligence, which is part of the Defense Intelligence Agency, stated that the coronavirus was genetically modified in a Chinese lab and that the pandemic resulted from a lab leak. The center’s role includes analyzing health threats to the U.S. military, such as infectious diseases and biological weapons.

Three scientists at the National Center for Medical Intelligence—John Hardham, a Ph.D. and Navy reserve captain, Robert Cutlip, a long-time DIA scientist with a doctorate in biomedical engineering who had served on a White House virus task force during the Trump administration, and Jean-Paul Chretien, a U.S. Navy doctor with experience in biodefense and as head of the pandemic warning team—conducted a genomic analysis that determined the virus had been altered in a lab.

The New York Post also reports the three researchers specifically found that a segment of the spike protein, which allows the virus to enter human cells, had been engineered using techniques described in a 2008 Chinese scientific paper, suggesting that Chinese scientists were conducting gain of function research to explore whether the virus could infect humans. The three researchers then briefed their colleagues, including one of Bannan’s partners, an FBI agent with a Ph.D., on their findings. However, during July 2021, a superior at the medical intelligence center ordered the three men to stop sharing their work with the FBI in which doing so was considered off the reservation.

The Post goes on to highlight:

Last month, The Post reported on whistleblower documents that alleged federal grant documents that described a so-called “blueprint” for producing viruses that cause COVID-19 could have been improperly classified.

As a result, the inquiry of the pandemic origins by the Intelligence Community may have been “flawed,” per that whistleblower, Marine Corps. Lt. Col. Joseph Murphy.

The grant proposal, known as Project DEFUSE, was put in digital portal for classified documents outside public reach despite not having been classified by the government. Some scientists have described that as “smoking gun” evidence to support the lab leak theory.

The DEFUSE papers detailed plans to develop a coronavirus with identical characteristics to the virus.

Dr. Brannan correctly points out that what ended up on the intelligence community’s chopping block needs to be given another look. But the findings of this investigation are not surprising in many ways. The Biden administration weaponized the virus in order to try to control the American populace, lie about its origins, while hoping to shield China from any blame. Most likely due to the party favors Biden received due to his dealings with China (i.e. quid pro quo).
