UPenn climate scientist Michael Mann took to Bluesky today to urge President Trump to comply with a federal judge’s order to stop the termination of over 1,300 Department of Education employees and reinstate those already fired. However, he made this appeal to his followers while threatening violence and advocating for armed resistance.
The Truth About Guns reports that Mann removed his post and then attempted to manipulate the narrative, engaging in the familiar leftist tactic of gaslighting often seen by Americans, mockingly referred to as dindu nuffin. This common liberal maneuver dismisses critics by implying they’re too ignorant to grasp his original intent.
In a follow-up post the next day, Mann stated, The Second Amendment pertains to the people’s right to stand up and protect democracy. To argue this is a threat against Trump is very dishonest.
Mann’s reference to the Second Amendment in relation to killing or overthrowing Trump mirrors a recent social media post by former FBI Director James Comey, who was accused of promoting violence by sharing 8647 on Instagram. In hospitality and mob slang, 86 means to remove or kill someone, and 47 signifies Trump as the 47th President.
Despite being Jewish, during October, Michael Mann became the University of Pennsylvania’s first vice provost for climate science, policy, and action. Known for his left-leaning rhetoric, the Hockey Stick graph author recently criticized the Department of Education’s new DEI reporting portal, designed to support reporting of unfair DEI practices in K-12 schools, by comparing it to Nazi programs, stating, I believe Hitler had a program like this.
Way to help normalize antisemitism, dude! Label people you dislike as Nazis or Hitler eventually diminishes the impact of terrible events, like the Holocaust, and the evil that brought them about resulting in their being acceptable.
However, Mann knew what he was doing and after essentially losing a major climate-related liability lawsuit a short time ago, he obviously has to get publicity somehow. The only difference is that his short 15 minutes of fame will not only garner him a visit by the Secret Service but also potential prison time.
