Once again environmentalists side with criminals.
A federal judge on Thursday ordered a two-week halt to construction at an immigrant detention center in the Florida Everglades dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” as she considers whether it violates environmental laws.
The facility was quickly built two months ago at a lightly used, single-runway training airport and can hold up to 3,000 detainees in temporary tent structures. The site was continuing to be built out, but the order by U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams temporarily bars any new filling, paving or infrastructure.
The order doesn’t include any restrictions on law enforcement or immigration enforcement activity at the center, which is currently holding hundreds of detainees. Williams issued the temporary restraining order during a hearing and said she would issue a written order later Thursday.
Alligator Alcatraz holds illegal aliens whom are rapists, murderers, and designated foreign terrorists and is is surrounded by natural barriers such as alligators, pythons, and dense swamps. The lawsuit was brought by Environmental groups and the Miccosukee Tribe and cited wetlands and threats to endangered species as the basis for their litigation. Obama appointed judge US District Judge Kathleen Williams oversaw the lawsuit’s hearing and issued the ruling.
This is nothing more than part of the Left’s cynical ploy to keep illegal aliens in the country in time for the Census in 2030. If the illegal aliens are deported or jailed, they cannot be counted. Shutting down facilities, like Alligator Alcatraz is being done to discourage enforcing immigration laws. Thankfully, Trump sees through what the Left is up to and has ordered a new Census that excludes illegal aliens. No word if a new one will be conducted prior to 2030.
Hopefully, the judge’s ruling will be overturned on appeal soon.
