The PEACE Act (IP28) represents a significant attempt by human hate groups to overhaul state animal protection statutes by banning almost all human uses of animals, including food production, entertainment, and research. To achieve this, the group needed 117,173 valid signatures; they recently announced they have collected 120,735.

Local media confirms that while some signatures may not count, the project may be on track to officially qualify for the ballot before the mid-July deadline. If it passes, long-standing exemptions for industries like agriculture and medicine would end resulting in their destruction.
