Anti-vaccine group alleges vaccines can turn kids gay

If you allow your kids to be vaccinated, they can turn out to be gay. Pink News reports that is the warning issued by anti-vaccine group VacTruth on its Facebook page. The group stated in its remarks that it was a legitimate question some people want to learn more about.

For the readers who have asked this question, do you think vaccinating a child with vaccines that are made up of endocrine disrupting chemicals, can affect the outcome of a person’s sexuality? Homosexuality is found in nature in other species and has occurred in populations long before the advent of vaccines. Some believe vaccines affect sexuality and some don’t. It is known that vaccines do disrupt hormonal function and can cause fertility and thyroid problems, so this is a legitimate question some people want to learn more about.

However not only is there no evidence that vaccines cause autism but, as the Pink News story points out, there is no evidence that they cause children to be gay either. The American Psychological Association states scientists are still unsure as to why people become gay in the first place. The group VacTruth is headed by a man named Jeffry John Aufderheide. He was a rescue swimmer in the Navy who states his son’s development was stunted by vaccines. However, there is nothing to indicate he has a scientific background or training. The group’s Facebook site claims that it exists to give parents information about vaccines.

Anti-vaccine groups make outlandish and patently untrue statements about vaccines and the causes of autism. What is described in the Pink News story is an indication of this. To better understand what anti-vaccine groups are all about, you need look no further than medical quack Andrew Wakefield. He submitted a research piece to the prestigious British medical journal Lancet which was later retracted alleging vaccines were the cause of autism. Wakefield was later stripped of his doctor’s license due to the fraud he tried to pull off but got lots of publicity and accolades from people who believe within the depths of their soul that vaccines cause autism. The anti-vaccine movement is nothing more than a platform for people attempting to make a name for themselves out of some sick, perverted, twisted sense of seeking fame at any cost. Including at the expense of the truth.
