Environmentalist technophobia now used against Bitcoin

Since the Bitcoin phenomenon has garnered so much attention from the press, now environmentalists have begun demonizing the digital currency claiming its server operations contribute to climate change.

It was eventual that the greens would target Bitcoin despite the fact that computer technology overall removes many of the things used in regular currency production. Paper and metal smoldering plants used to produce physical currency, for example, emit much larger amounts of carbon dioxide than bitcoin’s electronic servers and (as the video below points out) credit card companies use more electricity processing credit card transactions than the total sum of power Bitcoin servers consume.

Then again, none of that matters to environmentalists since their ultimate goal is to not only demonize aspects of society that benefit humans, but to eventually destroy civilization as we know it by attacking characteristics (like technology) gradually over time.
