Business Insider reporter and Tesla Owner Ben Bergman is so upset that he says on Twitter he’d rather pay $6 gas prices. The reason? The huge lines to charge his car. Bergman’s situation is not unique and it may be some time (or never) before lines at Tesla charging stations shrink.

According to the Institute for Energy Research, despite charging station wait times dropping, charging an electric vehicle can take about an hour and the lack of charging stations doesn’t help. This as opposed to the wait at gas stations which are much less.

Electric cars are a good idea in theory, but in reality they cannot handle the needs of people who want to own and operate their own motor vehicles, nor can they cut down on carbon emissions.
