German police faced violent attacks when trying to evacuate the town of Lutzerath located near the city of Aachen, Germany. DW reports an environmentalist gang that occupied the abandoned town for months in order to prevent the expansion of a local coal mine.

Upon beginning their operation, Bild points out the climate cultists threw stones, bottles and even Molotov cocktails at police equipped with water cannons. Germans need the coal in order to generate energy for power plants so they can heat their homes for the winter. But the mean greenies could care less about the lives of others including the lives of the children they used as human shields.
