The latest recipient of the climate cult’s vandalism of the iconsofWestern Civilization is the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy. From Reuters:

Seven young activists protesting against climate change climbed into the Trevi Fountain in Rome on Sunday and poured diluted charcoal into the water to turn it black.

The protesters from the “Ultima Generazione” (“Last Generation”) group held up banners saying “We won’t pay for fossil (fuels),” and shouted “our country is dying”.

Uniformed police waded into the water to take away the activists, with many tourists filming the stunt and a few of the onlookers shouting insults at the protesters, video footage showed.

Thankfully, the fountain itself was not damaged. But Rome’s mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, expressed the disgust on Twitter while the crowd cheered as the vandals were taken away by police. Many Europeans oppose climate fanatic vandalism in their effort to allegedly raise awareness about climate change.

The group behind the effort, Last Generation, says they want an end to all government subsidies toward fossil fuels, citing recent floods in northern Italy as a consequence of human-caused climate change. However, according to The New York Times citing Italian climatologist Marina Baldi, the flooding is not being caused by human caused climate change:

This part of Emilia-Romagna is particularly vulnerable. Its fertile flatlands, once marshes just above the sea level, have always been exposed to flooding. The Apennines are susceptible to landslides because of the fragile rocks they are made of, and the slopes’ grades make them unstable in case of heavy rains.

The intense rains, Ms. Baldi told the Gray Lady, occur every 100 to 150 years and when they happen the structure of the marshses and dry rivers can’t handle the volume of water, which results in flooding. Fortunately, there are signs things will get back to normal in the region soon. The Times says representatives of local hotels in the nearby beach town of Riccione say they’ll be open for tourists starting next week.

But none of this matters to the cultists of groups, like Last Generation, since they’re charging ahead with their quest to destroy civilizations, like ours, regardless of the facts.
