On person is dead due to fire on a roll-on, roll-off ship transporting 500 electric vehicles which has been engulfed in flames off the Dutch coast since Tuesday. The ship’s total cargo is around 3,800 vehicles, in which some are BMWs and Mercedes. Consequently, the incident has resulted in questions being raised about electric vehicle safety and with the vessel on the verge of sinking, authorities are concerned about the environmental impact.
