Consumers will get some much needed relief.
The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals pushed back on a Biden administration effort to tighten regulations on dishwashers and washing machines.
In 2022, President Joe Biden issued an executive order on his first day in office that led to the Department of Energy replacing a less strict Trump-era rule on those appliances with a more stringent rule for energy and water use.
Critics lamented the much longer amount of time needed for cleaning under the Biden rule and said Americans were paying more for the appliances that left the clothes and dishes less clean.
Had Biden’s rules been upheld, appliances would have taken twice as long to clean leaving dishes and utensils lacking in cleanliness which can more easily contribute to the spread of sickness. Even food held in refrigerators subjected to the new rules could spoil more easily costing consumers even more money.
Washing clothes would take longer and could ruin fabrics resulting in people having to buy clothes to replace them more often. This on top of the increased cost of being able to purchase refrigerators or dishwashers including the overall strain the electrical grid that would result in higher electric bills or even frequent black outs.
Another aim of these environmental rules was to destroy home appliance manufacturing and revert people (other than the elites) to a state of extreme poverty where most people would live miserable, undernourished, and unhealthy lives. Including experience painful deaths resulting from malnutrition, sickness, or even starvation.
This past holiday season, on two occasions Kamala Harris ridiculed the American people by posing with a gas stove and showed off her meat-oriented dinners were despite her previously urging Americans to eat less meat in order to fight climate change. In the meantime, elitists (like Barack Obama, John Kerry, and Joe Biden) own beachfront properties despite warnings about oceanic sea rise while urging people to cut back on their lifestyles.
The issue of climate change is not about saving consumers money or reducing carbon emissions. It is about political control of people’s lives while political elites live high on the hog.
