Biden is undoubtedly only allowing oil and gas drilling as a means to keep gas prices low in order to help get him elected.
US oil and gas production is booming, but policies being imposed now could jeopardize the country’s energy might, the industry’s top trade group is warning Washington.
That sobering outlook came from the American Petroleum Institute Wednesday, as it holds an annual gathering in the nation’s capital to highlight top policy priorities, amid concerns about climate change and conflicts around the globe that have heightened tensions over fossil fuel supplies.
US oil production hit a record in 2023, and it’s on track to surge to new highs this year, according to a forecast from the government’s Energy Information Administration. That’s yielded real dividends for American consumers and the industry, but it’s an outgrowth of activity by previous administrations that could be undone, API President Mike Sommers told industry officials, congressional staff and others at the event a few blocks from the Capitol.
The API is not only pressing Biden for a faster process in order to obtain drilling permits but he is reportedly under increasing pressure from environmentalists to block oil and gas projects. Bloomberg also reports that the ability of oil and gas companies to extract their products offshore in areas, like the Gulf of Mexico, could be restricted due to new windmill projects. Then there is also the recent conflict in the Middle East with ships transporting oil and gas in the Red Sea being attacked by Islamic terrorists based in Yemen.
Since Biden assumed the Oval Office, Bloomberg points out, the U.S. is producing nearly 2 million barrels daily. But Bloomberg also says most of it was extracted from private lands while another half a million barrels were produced resulting from offshore and onshore leases sold during prior presidencies and Congress even forced Biden to sell more permits that will last until 2025. So Biden’s claim that more drilling licenses were issued and domestic oil production is at an all time under his watch is ultimately false.
If he is re-elected, Biden will usher in another energy crisis since he will have more flexibility like his previous superior, Barack Obama, nearly did when Barry Sotero was re-elected during 2012. It was during Obama’s second term that the coal industry was nearly destroyed and Obama unleashed a flurry of new rules in an effort to shut down coal-fired power plants including restrict fossil fuel production.
Biden will follow undoubtedly Obama’s lead and build, and possibly even expand upon, the work Obama tried to conduct during his last 4 year term as president. Like his Democrat predecessor, Biden has shown the utmost contempt for the American people and the values of the United States. His policies will ultimately, benefit China and that is not surprising due to the massive bribes Biden took while vice president of the United States.
