While campaigning during parliamentary elections, the Labour promised they would protect farmers. In the end and not surprisingly, it was all a lie and now farmers in Great Britain are under assault where the government wants to confiscate their farms using inheritance tax and probably sell them off to BlackRock or Bill Gates. Consequently, thousands of British farmers are protesting at Westminster Palace condemning the proposed inheritance tax changes.

Not surprisingly, the Labour government claims they’re only targeting the wealthy and most farms won’t have to pay a penny. However, the London Times points out, the National Farmers Union quickly debunked that claim saying the government’s figures are incorrect and the people who attended recent protests don’t look wealthy at all. Even Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson showed up as an expression of solidarity with the farmers.

Like Mark Twain once said: History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.
