Climate alarmism, if not environmentalism in general, has truly poisoned everything.

Twenty-three Republican state attorneys general sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, demanding the EPA investigate funding for the Environmental Law Institute, which the AGs said attempts to “rig the courts” against American energy.

The EPA confirmed receipt and reiterated Zeldin’s dedication to cutting down on wasteful spending from the previous administration. The EPA canceled two grants to the Environmental Law Institute in May.

“It’s outrageous that the Biden EPA has funneled over a million taxpayer dollars to an organization actively working to sway the judiciary in favor of climate nuisance lawsuits,” Jason Isaac, founder and CEO of the American Energy Institute, told The Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday.

The Climate Judiciary Project was organized seven years ago, and, according to its website, has trained over 2.000 judges over a period of 50 events. The group definitely seeks to influence judges on how to rule on legal torts involving climate change despite its claims to the contrary. The Daily Signal also points out, the Climate Judiciary Project’s parent organization, Environmental Law Institute, has collaborated with the EPA for over 30 years.

Last year, Montana’s Supreme Court ruled that the state constitution’s right to a clean and healthful environment invalidated a state law barring the consideration of greenhouse gas emissions and climate impacts in environmental reviews. Montana’s Attorney General Austen Knudsen told the Daily Signal that the Left has dominated the Treasure State’s judiciary for decades and suspects some members of the state’s supreme court attended trainings hosted by the Climate Judiciary Project.

An EPA spokesperson told the Daily Signal they received the letter from Republican AG’s and would reply through appropriate channels. In the meantime, Austen Knudsen correctly called the efforts to litigate climate change through Montana’s courts lawfare and the Climate Judiciary Project and its parent organization laid the groundwork for it.

Hopefully, the Left will be ousted from Montana’s legal system and sanity will be restored there very soon.
