Environmental activists and climate-driven local governments are launching aggressive climate lawfare throughout America—leveraging lawsuits to sidestep Congress, the UN’s faltering global programs, Trump administration regulations, and Supreme Court decisions. Their goal is clear: force an anti-fossil-fuel agenda upon the American public and drive down living standards for everyone else.

The Daily Signal, reveals several Blue jurisdictions have launched a series of lawsuits claiming that man-made climate change is an existential threat that requires the rapid phase-out of using all fossil fuels in which their goal is obviously to force system-level changes upon our energy, economy, and society via an indirect carbon taxes and a variety of other policies.

The cities, states, and counties involved in the litigation are being supported by a wide variety of climate cult groups, like EarthRights International, demanding billions in restitution for alleged past and future ‘damages’ and this lawfare is clearly intended to ratchet up fossil fuel costs until they become prohibitive for most families, effectively locking them out of essential energy sources across the country.

Worst of all, officials and attorneys involved in the lawsuits have openly admitted that the ultimate objective is to overhaul (i.e. destroy) America’s energy infrastructure and impose exorbitant costs on fossil fuels across the board.

The Supreme Court has explicitly ruled that federal bureaucrats lack the authority to enact major regulations without clear congressional mandate, nor can they stretch ambiguous laws to justify massive expansions of regulatory power or cost. Yet, these local lawfare campaigns attempt to circumvent those rulings entirely and are deliberately skewed to sidestep other fundamental legal questions..

This is exactly why the Supreme Court announced in February that it will hear appeals from Suncor and ExxonMobil, which are seeking to dismiss the Colorado case and comparable local climate litigation. Hopefully, a final ruling to end this madness will result and it can’t come a moment too soon.
