Being a Leftist means never having to take responsibility for anything.

A Paris politician blamed Americans and US air conditioning for the record-breaking heat wave in Europe that has resulted in more than 1,300 excess deaths.

After US tourists mocked France over the lack of air conditioning across the country amid 104-degree temperatures, Audrey Pulvar, deputy mayor of Paris for international relations, claimed the situation was partly America’s fault.

Easy to say when she probably lives in an air conditioned home and works in offices with it too.

The intense propaganda discouraging air conditioning among French citizens including the building codes making owning air conditioning very hard and, now, shaming them for wanting air conditioning units is largely Pulvar and her political movement’s fault. The heatwave (considered one of the worst in years) has exposed this misfit and the hatred she and her comrades have for others.

Blaming the U.S. for France’s lack of air conditioning is pure deflection. Scapegoating America won’t cool any homes or save lives. Leaders should stop finger-pointing and address domestic vulnerabilities. Wealthy nations have no excuse treating air conditioning as a luxury while heat waves kill thousands. If European governments can spend billions on climate initiatives, they can provide this century-old life-saving technology to their citizens.

Hopefully Parisians will recall her. However, the demand for air conditioning isn’t limited to France.
